As a Senior Associate, Restructuring your responsibilities will include:
- Main point of contact and interacting with stakeholders on file engagements (creditors, debtors, lawyers, lenders, etc.) for creditors and legal inquiries
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing financial information, financial projections and business plans
- Building and maintaining client relationships with banks, lawyers and other clientele
- Preparing, editing and proofing key correspondence, client and court reports, and letters to stakeholders
- Filing various official documents with the Courts and the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and ensuring all deadlines are met
- Hands on role on file engagements including communicating with stakeholders, attending to file issues on an as needed basis and developing resolutions
- Reviewing invoices, preparing payments and handling trust account duties; preparing summary of receipts and disbursements for trust accounts as needed
- Reviewing proofs of claims for compliance with requirements pursuant to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and entering into software
- Coordinating and attending external/internal meetings and events
- Tracking project progress, milestones, and deadlines
- Arranging, participating in, and taking notes at meetings
- Ad Hoc projects based on skills including taking possession of debtor assets, preparing GST returns, Tax returns, accounting analysis, summarizing financial information, etc.
- Other additional responsibilities based on the aptitude and skills of the candidate

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Associate, Restructuring? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:
- Strong business acumen and insatiable curiosity
- 1 - 3+ years of experience
- Post-secondary education in a business-related field (Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration, etc.)
- Completion or pursuing of a CPA or CFA designation
- Previous accounting and corporate finance experience would be considered an asset
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with and develop financial models
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Strong online research database skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
- A client-focused approach to work
- Confident and team focused, able to interact well with peers and clients
- Ability to work independently in support of the growth of the practice and demonstrated leadership potential
- Experience with accounting software systems (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, etc.)

At Doane Grant Thornton, we’re committed to ensuring our compensation practices are fair, equitable and competitive. To get the conversation started, we’re happy to share that our current base salary for this role ranges from $65,000-$89,000.
Our special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person. That’s why we’re working in a model where teams are required to be together in the office 4 days per week.
