Work Science, one of Australia’s highly regarded safety and risk management consultancies is seeking a Managing Consultant – WHS to support the delivery of recent new project wins and drive continued growth.

Our reputation for solving complex WHS problems means we need an experienced WHS leader to join our growing Brisbane team.
About the role:
Note: This is a hybrid role combining a primary office base in Brisbane, with flexibility to work from home in accordance with deliverables and coordination with your manager.
In this leadership role, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and delivering projects which provide clients with technical advice, audits, training, workshops, incident investigation, and reports – on health, safety, and risk
- Providing leadership and support to team members, especially in the WHS service line, and in Brisbane
- Designing and delivering high-quality management systems and other types of documentation
- Conducting quality assurance on client deliverables
- Business development, with a focus on WHS, and collaborative projects with other service lines, which deliver value to our clients
- Other tasks and work as required to drive successful outcomes for Work Science and our clients
About you:
Are you a highly motivated, skilled safety consulting professional and looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a great base of practical and technical skills to complement your consulting experience? Would you like to support a range of diverse, high impact projects? This role could be for you!
Desirable Qualifications and experience
- Degree level qualification in a WHS or related field
- 8-12 years’ experience delighting your clients, colleagues and onlookers in a WHS role
- 5+ years’ experience leading others
- WHS lead auditor qualification desirable
- Construction and/or property risk experience desirable
Skills and capabilities
- Team leader, ensures high performance and achievement of team members, driving the delivery of high quality work for clients
- Managing resources, including staff time, against quoted budgets and proposals
- Tenacious, resourceful and willing to work outside comfort zones to learn and grow
- Excellent technical writing and systems documentation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, both internally and client-facing
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel
- Curious, inquisitive, adaptable to change and capable to thrive in a commercial consulting environment
- Pragmatic problem solver
