The Role
AArete is actively seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant with expertise in healthcare payer systems. As a Senior Consultant, you will bring a strong analytical mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a commitment to excellence. You thrive in collaborative team environments and embrace the challenge of solving complex problems. In this role, you will take ownership of driving projects to successful outcomes, while also helping to lead and manage a team. Your leadership and expertise will be pivotal in delivering innovative solutions to unique business challenges.
Work You’ll Do
As a Senior Consultant at AArete, you will lead and drive teams to successful outcomes through the following:
- Identifying innovative solutions through in-depth research, data analytics, and insightful interviews
- Taking ownership in the development of business cases, delivering actionable recommendations, and leading the implementation of operational initiatives
- Leading projects and workstreams, ensuring they are executed effectively and efficiently
- Creating client communications, presenting analytical findings and recommendations, and independently handling client inquiries
- Gathering, refining, and analyzing complex data sets, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, and financial data, to enable accurate and robust quantitative analyses
- Crafting compelling business cases to showcase viable solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
- Delivering persuasive presentations to clients and internal teams, ensuring clear and impactful communication
- Overseeing the implementation phase, ensuring successful execution and transition of initiatives
- Mentoring and guiding Analysts and Consultants to foster their growth and development
- Developing a deep understanding of client needs and delivering exceptional results that align with their objectives
- Asking incisive and probing questions to uncover underlying issues and identify new opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with the healthcare industry, specifically on the payer side
- 4 + years of consulting experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and basic SQL for data analysis
- High self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to encourage and inspire others
- Exceptional independent judgment and decision-making skills
- Creative and innovative problem-solving abilities
- Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to balance and prioritize competing responsibilities
- Cultural flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to engage in direct client interaction, including travel to client locations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with AArete’s other focus industries: Healthcare Providers, Financial Services, Education, Retail & Consumer, Transportation, Logistics & Distribution, Public Sector, and Technology & Professional Services
- Familiarity with SQL
- Based in Chicago, IL, and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed

The estimated base salary range for this position is $105,000 – $125,000. In addition to this base salary, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. This range is a part of a competitive, total compensation package together with our Employee Stock Ownership Plan, majority employer-paid benefits, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Please note that this range is a guideline and individual total compensation may vary due to numerous factors including but not limited to experience level, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
