Strategic Communications Analyst

As a Strategic Communications Analyst, you’ll bring your expertise in developing communication plans and approaches to work on projects for a Joint Staff client. You’ll analyze priorities and organizational objectives. You will develop plans for the client to support those objectives through engagements with stakeholders within and outside of the Department of Defense. Individually and as a member of team, you’ll research key organizations and individuals that interact with the client’s objectives and develop plans to support leader engagements for general officers and flag officers. You will attend senior leader meetings to prioritize future engagements and facilitate long-term planning. You’ll research and develop talking points for key leader engagements, requiring coordination with action officers and leaders in the Joint Staff, ally and partner military officials, industry leaders, and members of academia. You’ll be entrusted with crafting information papers, slide presentations, and talking points ranging from unclassified through Top Secret. This work will require an agile, analytical skill set and an understanding of Joint Force concepts and doctrine. You’ll be a trusted advisor to our clients, including senior leaders, and we’ll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, processes, and ways for the client to achieve their organizational objectives.

You Have:
- 2+ years of experience planning and supporting strategic communications for Joint, service, or DoD leaders
- 2+ years of experience working in the DoD as a military, civilian, or contractor in a Joint or combined headquarters, major command, or higher headquarters
- 2+ years of experience researching and developing defense talking points for general or flag officers, legislators, or corporate executives
- 2+ years of experience analyzing defense organization objectives and developing recommendations to achieve them
- Ability to manage long- and short-term deliverables simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment and answer short-suspense information requests independently
- Ability to develop information products and talking points at all classification levels
- Ability to develop public-facing information and argumentative products, including academic journal articles
- Ability to frequently advise senior leaders in a professional, concise, and confident manner regarding engagement priorities and strategic objectives
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Joint Staff processes and procedures
- Knowledge of the Joint Strategic Planning System
- Knowledge of key Joint Concepts and Doctrine
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master's degree in National Defense, International Relations, International Security, or a related field
- Public Affairs or Strategic Communications Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
