Our key expertise comprises to evaluate the risks and opportunities of a company’s business plan and subsequently develop, negotiate and implement restructuring alternatives to maximize recovery.
As an Associate - Financial Restructuring you will manage and support the following key responsibilities:
- Advise stakeholders of companies facing financial difficulties, typically due to over-levered balance sheets; assess Group-level financial performance in addition to high-level analysis of the financial viability of subsidiary companies
- Prepare corporate strategic plans in addition to implementation support for domestic and international groups and subsidiaries
- Contribute to performance monitoring following business plan implementation
- Tasks can include: Initial diagnostic assessment of key issues and business outlook, appraisal of options and contingency planning, cash flow assessments and Independent Business Reviews, capital structure modelling analysis, assist more senior team members in the formulation of negotiating positions (term sheets), liaise with legal advisers in the creation of implementable restructuring proposals and contingency planning alternatives
- Contribute to business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates
- You will work closely with our senior leaders as part of a fast-growing and dynamic pan-European team
We welcome candidates with the following qualifications:
- MSc degree from an accredited top-tier university
- Previous experience within a Financial Restructuring team at a leading advisory firm (including Big 4 firms, investment banks and boutique advisory firms; additional alternative lender / credit recovery fund experience will also be considered)
- Some understanding of the Romanian and commonly used cross-border restructuring frameworks (e.g. UK Schemes)
- Previous experience delivering financial restructuring projects including Independent Business Reviews for corporates and lenders, short term cash flow assessments, capital structure analysis and lender restructuring options analysis
- Demonstrated expertise of conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, particularly with integrated financial models, short-term cash flows and LBO/capital structure models
- Previous experience and understanding of valuation and debt capacity analysis as a driver of financial restructuring options and tactics
- Fluency in Romanian and English languages is a must
