About The Role
"Take responsibility for managing a module of work (or a small project 1-2 member team). Involve heading client teams and structuring analyses to answer critical client questions. Key goals include acting internally as a role model, developing expert status with middle management level client staff & start taking on business development tasks (proposals and client pitches).
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership - Manage the delivery of major strategic consulting engagements from inception to completion, incorporating design, plan, cost and management, primary research, developing bespoke client focused solutions through commercial leadership.
- Industry Interaction – Lead from the front by personally undertaking primary research and conducting strategic discussions with industry participants. Being well networked in the industry is a critical success factor for this function.
- Presentations – Ability to interpret research data and findings to prepare a succinct report/presentation appropriate for client meetings. Support Partners/Business Unit leaders with material for such interactions.
- Domain Expertise - Act as an industry expert and trusted advisor for key clients
- Manage key stakeholders by sector/practice area to ensure expectations are met/exceeded, timelines are heeded
- Develop excellent quality content
- Work with a global team of experts to create a powerful customer experience
Required Competencies

The successful candidate will be a professional and committed business consultant, with a thorough understanding of consulting methodologies. Proven success with direct client interaction, business development, custom research project fulfilment and a pro-active, methodical and innovative working practice is essential, with a proven ability to deliver accurate results within a fast paced, client focused environment.
Essential
- Degree in engineering, science, economics and/or business is a must. Post-graduate qualification in management from leading universities preferable.
- 3-5 years of prior consulting/ lead analyst experience in a top consulting firm, or research organization. Experience in internal strategic functions of large energy or environment companies also acceptable.
- Understanding and practical exposure to mega trends like Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, New Business Models, Automation etc. and its impact on conventional industries
- Strong project management skills
- Previous experience of mentoring, training and inspiring a team of Consulting/Research professionals.
- Advanced ability to develop strong business relationships, collaborate with the sales function and establish continued client business.
- Articulate with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the Energy & Environment industry (an appreciation of the industry structure, operational practice, business functionalities and competitive landscape) in one or more of the following segments –
- Power Infrastructure & Utilities (Power Generation, Distributed Energy, Grids, Energy Retail, Deregulation)
- Building Technologies and Construction (Building Automation, HVAC, Facilities Management, Fire & Safety, Engineering & Construction)
- Environment and Sustainability (Climate Change, Water Treatment, Waste management & recycling, sustainability)
- Oil & Gas (Upstream, LNG, Oil & Gas Services)
- Are Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Take ownership to work independently with remote supervision
- Can multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Are disciplined and adhere to high-quality standards
- Is a strategic thinker; understands how operational activities are vital in supporting the overall strategy of the business
