You will work alongside experienced professionals across the company providing a wide range of complex and often high-profile services to enable our clients to investigate, prevent or remediate fraud, corruption, or misconduct.
Ankura’s Risk Advisory practice provides clients with expertise with investigations, compliance & forensic accounting advisory which includes:
- Investigations into bribery & corruption, regulatory violations, and complex fraud.
- Forensic accounting and financial reporting investigations to uncover financial discrepancies and gain hands-on experience in the reconstruction of company books and records.
- Investigations into reputationally damaging behavioural misconduct.
- Anti-bribery & corruption reviews and pre-acquisition anti-bribery and corruption due diligence.
- Designing and implementing robust Anti-Financial Crime programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing ongoing monitoring to detect and prevent illicit financial activities.
- Help clients navigate complex international sanctions regimes by providing advisory services on sanctions compliance, including the development of policies and procedures, as well as training.
- Conducting public record research to map out relationships between individuals and companies in support of complex fraud and bribery investigations.
Provide intelligence to support the resolution of complex disputes. Use of open-source intelligence (OSINT) and human source networks to support litigation, especially the provision of asset tracing. Given that this line of work does not tend to follow a prescriptive task checklist, neither will your role. Thus you might expect to be involved in a range of investigative activities from detailed analysis of transactional data, underlying books and records, and financial statements to conducting reviews of electronic documents on Ankura’s e-Discovery platforms and writing client reports.
You will work closely with clients and/or legal counsel and can therefore expect to experience exposure to a wide range of professional stakeholders throughout the program.

Requirements
- You will need to be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a one-year postgraduate place confirmed; and
- You will need to have or be on course for a 2.1 undergraduate degree or above. While we welcome applications from all educational degrees, applicants from Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Languages, Business, Politics, History, and International Relations, or similarly analytical and/or research-oriented courses would certainly be advantageous.
- A working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as strong research, analytical, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Initiative, adaptability, creative problem-solving skills, an ability to work well with teams, and work overtime when needed.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in our investigative work and the broader industry and the curiosity and creativity to support with unravelling our client’s complex problems.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Candidates must be currently based in Hong Kong.
