THE ROLE
We’re looking for Program Manager, Senior Consulting Manager who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Program Manager, Senior Consulting Manager (which is a Senior Manager level position) this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsibilities
- Consult directly with clients in the Logistics and Rail Transportation domains, offering strategic advisory services to help solve complex business and technology challenges, particularly across rail operations, logistics optimization, supply chain control tower, billing, and payments.
- Define product/platform strategies and high-level solutions, translate them into detailed features, and maintain a product roadmap that balances business value realization with speed-to-market.
- Partner with client leadership to manage product vision, ensuring alignment with shifting business needs and operational goals.
- Lead the development, compliance, and implementation of product features across rail and logistics systems, while aligning with industry regulations and standards.
- Manage and direct a team of consultants across multiple client engagements. Oversee business case development, stakeholder communications, issue resolution, and delivery of high-value solutions.
- Provide in-depth assessments and recommendations to optimize rail and logistics operations, leveraging domain expertise and industry best practices.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams including IT, marketing, operations, and delivery to ensure successful solution delivery and process improvements.
- Drive Cognizant Consulting’s business within the Rail domain under the Logistics ISU, identifying consulting opportunities and supporting business development initiatives.
- Serve as a thought leader by developing assets, insights, and POVs on key trends and innovations across the Logistics and Rail space.
- Identify opportunities for business growth and operational efficiencies using data analytics and industry benchmarks.
- Align with Agile delivery teams and program managers to ensure smooth execution, proactively identifying bottlenecks and resource constraints.
- Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders to ensure high client satisfaction and successful project delivery.
- Serve as a people leader, mentoring and guiding a team of talented consultants. Lead performance reviews, provide career coaching, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Support consulting practice initiatives such as asset creation, RFI/proposal support, client presentations, and strategic consulting points (SCPs).
- Actively engage in IP creation through white papers, case studies, blogs, and other thought leadership content.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of management consulting experience, with at least 4–6 years in product or technology-focused leadership roles in the Rail and Logistics industry.
- Proven experience in product management, including platform strategy definition, roadmap ownership, and feature implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or PGDM preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project plans, apply project management principles, and successfully deliver transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading both technical and non-technical initiatives, with the ability to coordinate onsite/offshore models.
- Deep understanding of rail logistics systems, domain-specific challenges, and emerging trends in supply chain technology.
- Relevant certifications in product management, logistics, or consulting methodologies (e.g., Agile, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a passion for developing others and creating a culture of excellence.
- A proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a desire to work with enterprise-level clients in complex environments.
WORK AUTHORIZATION

Salary And Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $98,853 - $158,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
