Job Title: Senior Associate, Private Equity
Overview:
East 57th Street Partners is pleased to partner with a premier private equity firm to identify a highly motivated and analytical Senior Associate, Private Equity. This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional with deep experience in deal execution, financial modeling, and portfolio company management. The Senior Associate will play a critical role in evaluating new investments, driving transaction execution, and partnering with portfolio companies to unlock value and accelerate growth.
Position Summary:
The Senior Associate will work across the full investment lifecycle—sourcing, diligence, execution, portfolio management, and exit. This individual will be a key contributor on lean deal teams, bringing insight, discipline, and creativity to each stage of the investment process. The role offers meaningful exposure to a range of sectors and the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced investors and operating executives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct rigorous financial modeling and valuation analyses (LBO, DCF, returns modeling, etc.) to assess investment opportunities.
- Lead workstreams across the diligence process, including coordinating with third-party advisors and internal functional experts.
- Draft investment memoranda and present findings and recommendations to the investment committee.
- Support legal and financial execution of transactions, including documentation, structuring, and negotiation efforts.
- Serve as a point of contact for portfolio company management teams, helping drive strategic and operational initiatives.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and contribute to value creation plans, board reporting, and exit preparation.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market developments, and potential acquisition targets within key investment themes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting with demonstrable success in transaction execution and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong command of LBO modeling and valuation methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to senior stakeholders.
- Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to travel for due diligence and portfolio company engagements.
