Position Overview
As the Data Analyst, Sustainability for the FIFA World Cup 2026, you will be for supporting the initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and social responsibility within the tournament’s operations and legacy. This analytical role will be responsible for cross functional coordination to collect data and create analyses to drive environmental and social performance for the FWC26 and to ensure the legacy of the event. The analyst will take an innovative approach to understanding the data and sharing important insights with key stakeholders. This role will ensure that the event not only delivers a world-class football experience but also adheres to high ethical standards regarding sustainability. Reporting to the VP, Sustainability your team, will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including local and international partners, governmental organizations, and internal departments, to ensure these goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy Support and Execution:
- Support the execution of sustainability strategies for the World Cup, ensuring alignment with FIFA's global environmental goals and the host cities' priorities.
- Identify data sources and analyze data that support the setting and tracking of environmental and social goals.
- Ideate and develop relevant event-specific metrics to track progress based on analysis.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to meet environmental and social goals based on analysis.
- Conduct research on themes related to FWC26 Hospitality environmental and social goals.
- Provide recommendations for approach on strategy execution based on research
Compliance And Reporting
- Manage data collection and develop dashboards, reports and presentations to communicate opportunities and insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor progress towards sustainability, and report regularly to On Location leadership, FIFA’s executive committee, sponsors, and other relevant parties.
- Develop detailed reports on sustainability outcomes post-tournament, providing a roadmap for future events.
Legacy Planning
- Develop metrics and insights to drive performance for FWC26 and to measure future performance across future events.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or Environmental Science strongly preferred, Master’s degree in those fields preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or other business related or environmental science and data background.
- Proven success working with multiple large datasets, creating data-driven insights, and developing reports and dashboards to communicate those insights.
- Experience in emissions calculations and lifecycle assessment (LCA) analysis preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Comfortable cleaning, testing, and managing data from a wide range of sources and presenting structured data and data insights to stakeholders.
- Ability to apply climate, sustainability, and economic inclusion frameworks, including GHG Protocol and Life Cycle Assessment methodology, to FWC26 project.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Cultural Sensitivity:
- Strong understanding of and respect for diverse cultures, with a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion on a global scale.
- Ability to have extensive travel.
Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the range shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
