The Team
This role sits within the Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG) team at Alvarez & Marsal in London. We work with clients across the financial services space, focusing on banks, lending platforms, private equity, credit investors, and other specialized financial services firms. The team brings together market-recognized global leaders within the loan portfolio, real estate portfolio, and structured credit product space. PAG provides a full-service market advisory to financial institutions and sellers of non-core assets, structures, arranges, and executes structured credit transactions for banks, non-bank lenders, and corporates for risk transfer and funding. The team supports investors with all aspects of due diligence on target assets, develops and implements strategic financing strategies or deleveraging options, and provides pricing and analytical services and advisory services in connection with remediation, consolidation, valuation, and servicing of portfolios of assets.
How You Will Contribute
An opportunity exists for a specialized professional (Associate or Senior Associate level) based in our London office. The role focuses on Structured Credit Execution and Advisory and will be instrumental in building out the SCEA team’s capabilities in analysis, origination, and execution of a range of complex credit transactions, primarily in financial services. The successful hire will work to structure and execute credit transactions for banks, corporates, and sovereigns, bringing experience in identifying and solving problems at both a quantitative and qualitative level.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have a successful track record within one or more well-established financial services firms, including an investment bank, fund manager, credit rating agency, or similar. Expertise in the financial services sector, particularly in respect of credit topics, is essential. The candidate should have demonstrable expertise in financial modeling, ideally including cashflow modeling and rating agency methodology, and broad asset and sector knowledge across multiple geographies. A willingness to learn continuously and a proactive drive to apply features and rationale from known situations to new client transaction possibilities are crucial.
