What You Will Do
At GEP, we're looking to continue our growth trajectory by expanding our talented market intelligence and analysis team. As a Junior Economic Analyst, you'll work with data analysis, economic fundamentals, and events impacting macro-sector scenarios. Your focus will be working in partnership with our internal teams to provide our clients with market trends that impact prices of commodities and prices indexes. Therefore, your job scope includes:
- Monitoring and tracking macroeconomic and sectoral indicators, including projections.
- Producing and updating monthly macroeconomic and sectoral analysis reports.
- Updating and suggesting indicators to complement the newly created sectoral database.
- Producing sectoral materials for presentation to clients and market studies, including economic, statistical, and econometric analyses.
- Providing daily support to our clients in clarifying questions about domestic and international raw material price indicators, as well as their respective projections.
What You Should Bring
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
- Experience: At least 1 year of expertise in analysis and structuring data and information for scenarios.
- Languages: Advanced / Fluent in English. It will be a differential for Spanish
- Proficiency in Portuguese for writing and writing skills.
Other Skills
- Advanced Excel knowledge
- Skills with technology tools for data analysis.
- Knowledge of econometrics; data extraction via Python; and Power BI.
- Basic/intermediate knowledge of R and/or Eviews;
- Ease of producing PPT presentations.
- Enjoy speaking to external audiences and presenting online and in-person
- Teamwork skills, good time management and self-motivation.
- Initiative and proactivity are essential.
