The Team
Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice is comprised of over 600 sector experts and specialized consultants across the Globe. We combine strategic and operational expertise with a deep technical knowledge to support developers, sponsors, lenders, and projects leader to select, structure, improve and execute Capital Projects in a more efficient and sustainable way.
We are expanding our Infrastructure & Capital Projects business and are searching for staff to support and be part of our Infra PMO in Canada.
How you will contribute
- Participate in the execution of work according to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Develop a detailed work plan to ensure adherence to the scope, timeline, and quality outlined in the technical proposal.
- Execute I&CP service lines with proficiency.
- Deliver comprehensive presentations to Managers, Directors, and C-Level executives.
- Engage in various projects, collaborating with colleagues and clients across a variety of sectors and functional areas.
- Facilitate effective collaborations between leadership, achieving alignments and producing outcomes that serve the interests of all stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to project demands and anticipate critical actions for the success of initiatives.
Activities & Responsibilities (Role Specific – PMO Cost Control Specialist)
- Assist in the development and review of capital cost estimates.
- Maintain and regularly update the capital cost benchmarking database.
- Develop and implement financial management processes and templates for budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Establish cost baselines and monitor project financial performance against these.
- Analyze project costs, variances, and trends, providing actionable insights to project managers.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
- Assist in the integration of budgeting and cost control processes across multiple projects.
- Create dashboards and reports to track financial health, cost performance, and forecasted expenditure.
- Develop procedures for contingency planning and financial risk management.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly project financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- +3 years of professional background in Construction, Engineering or Consulting.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure and Capital Projects service lines.
- Proven experience in project management is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and project management tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, PM systems).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent reporting skills with experience in data visualization.
- Proficiency in PowerBI and/or SmartSheet considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of cost control techniques and financial forecasting.
- Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) is a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Proactive in acquiring knowledge of project management tools.
- Capability to coordinate deliveries from analysts and interns on projects.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
- Capacity to present work comprehensively to managers and clients.
