West Monroe is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to join our Data & Analytics practice focused on Mergers & Acquisitions. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and executing the data-related aspects of carve-out and integration transactions, ensuring seamless separation, migration, and integration of data assets. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data management, data architecture, and M&A processes, coupled with exceptional project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
Pre-Close Carve-Out & Integration Strategy and Planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity) to develop and execute a comprehensive carve-out/integration strategy for data-related projects.
- Assess the target entity’s data environment, including data architecture, data management, reporting, and advanced analytics to identify dependencies and risks.
- Define the scope, timeline, and resource requirements for data carve-out and integration initiatives.
- Inform TSA discussions and negotiations around the data and analytics perimeter.
Post-Close Data Separation, Migration, and Integration
- Lead data separation efforts, including extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from legacy systems to the buyer’s environment.
- Manage lift-and-shift efforts or re-platforming onto new cloud environments or technology stacks, including greenfield data platform builds.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and contractual obligations during the carve-out process.
- Oversee the design and implementation of interim solutions to support business continuity during the transition period.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all data-related carve-out or integration activities, collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to align stakeholders on data carve-out/integration goals and deliverables.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, security, and compliance throughout the carve-out/integration process.
- Implement quality assurance processes to validate the accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
- Ensure all data-related carve-out/integration deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.
Post-Carve-Out/Integration Support
- Provide post-transition support to ensure the stability of the separated data environment.
- Partner with IT and business teams to address any data-related issues or gaps post-carve-out.
- Document lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of carve-out methodologies and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in M&A, carve-outs, or related roles, with a strong focus on data projects.
- Experience working in consulting
- Proven expertise in designing and building data architecture/platforms, including data ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption (e.g., business intelligence, reporting, AI/ML).
- Proven expertise in data management, including data migration, integration, and governance (e.g., data quality, catalog, master data management).
- Strong understanding of IT systems, databases, and enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, CRM).
- Experience with ETL tools, data mapping, and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements around data privacy and security is a plus but not required (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or data-related fields (e.g., SQL Server, Databricks, Snowflake, cloud platforms, etc.).
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Travel up to 50%
Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
