Our Mergers and Acquisitions Practice (M&A) is seeking a Manager to join our rapidly growing Merger & Carveout Services (MCS) team. This role will advise Private Equity and Corporate clients across industries on mergers and divestiture/carve-out transactions with both an IT and cross-functional lens. Areas of focus for IT include domain knowledge in business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT organization. Cross-functional areas of focus include HR, Finance & Accounting, Sales & Marketing, and Operations.
In this dynamic role, you will manage engagements through complex M&A transactions, from initial strategy and due diligence to integration/separation and post-deal activities including buy-side and sell-side engagements, mergers, integrations, and divestitures. This role requires strong business acumen, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver actionable recommendations aligned with client objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Client Delivery
- Manage engagements across the transaction lifecycle, including due diligence, pre-close planning, and post-close integration and carve-out execution.
- Deliver insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders through concise, executive-ready deliverables.
- Ensure project milestones are met through effective project management and quality assurance.
- Contribute to the development of templates, frameworks, and deliverables to ensure consistency and quality.
Program/Project Management
- Manage Technology workstream planning/execution or program management office (e.g., IMO, SMO) overseeing multiple functions.
- Identify and mitigate risks, engage stakeholders, and ensure program success.
- Drive program economics, including budgeting and invoicing processes.
- Coordinate teams across internal M&A functions, external buyer/seller teams, and third-party vendors.
- Facilitate steering committees and cross-functional team meetings in collaboration with senior leaders.
Practice Development
- Support the development of methodologies for M&A services, including due diligence, planning, and carve-outs.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Participate in recruiting efforts and assist with onboarding new team members.
Business Development
- Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposal creation and pricing models tailored to client needs.
- Build relationships with private equity and corporate clients to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Collaborate across practices to scope and deliver solutions aligned with client objectives.
Functional/Domain Expertise
- Support diligence activities, including TSA scoping, negotiations, and pricing, one-time and run-rate financial modeling, and standalone cost analysis.
- Provide oversight across workstreams to ensure alignment with client investment theses.
- Maintain expertise in IT systems, financial processes, and operational domains.
Core Competencies
- Analytics & Tools: Leverage tools such as CapIQ, PitchBook, Smartsheet, PowerBI, and enterprise architecture tools.
- Financial Acumen: Conduct financial assessments, including P&L evaluations and cost modeling.
- Communication: Deliver clear, impactful insights to stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
- Relationship Building: Build strong relationships internally and externally to drive engagement and project success.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience managing operational and/or IT projects, with exposure to M&A transactions.
- Experience delivering insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Industry experience (e.g., Software, Healthcare, Consumer & Industrial Products, Insurance) preferred but not mandatory.
- Expertise in financial modeling, project management methodologies, and business strategy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of managing senior-level relationships.
- Ability to travel up to 50% for client engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced certifications (e.g., LeanIX Practitioner) are a plus.
- Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
