Job Summary
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Business Systems Analyst to support data initiatives on the Azure and Databricks platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with business, product, and engineering teams to translate requirements into functional specifications, perform data analysis, and ensure high‑quality data delivery across cloud platforms.
In This Role, You Will
- Act as a Business Systems Analyst supporting solutions built on Azure and Databricks
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements
- Create and maintain Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) and Source‑to‑Target (S2T) mapping documents
- Perform data analysis, data validation, data lineage analysis, and data classification to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Conduct requirements walkthroughs for Developers, Data Engineers, and Testers to ensure clear understanding and alignment
- Support teams throughout the development and testing lifecycle by clarifying data and business rules
What You Need To Have To Be Considered
- Proven experience creating Source to Target mapping documents and performing data lineage analysis
- Strong hands on experience with data profiling and data analysis
- Proficiency in SQL to query, analyze, and validate datasets
- Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, preferably on Microsoft Azure
- Ability to use Databricks notebooks to query, analyze, and troubleshoot cloud based data
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams
Nice to Have
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Exposure to large scale data platforms or enterprise data warehouses
- Familiarity with data governance or metadata management concepts

Salary And Other Compensation
The hourly salary for this position is between $[123,500 - 145,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
