We are looking for a Senior Consultant with experience in Power BI to design, architect, and optimize solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights. This role blends hands-on development with client leadership, architecture, and team mentorship. You will work directly with client stakeholders to define reporting strategies, build scalable data models, and deliver impactful analytics solutions that drive business outcomes.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models for clients.
- Architect scalable Power BI semantic models, optimize DAX calculations, and performance-tune datasets.
- Connect Power BI to a variety of data sources (cloud platforms, data warehouses, APIs, on-prem systems) and ensure efficient data integration.
- Lead client discovery sessions to define reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on strategy, governance, and best practices.
- Mentor and review the work of junior consultants and developers to elevate overall team performance.
- Establish and enforce data visualization standards and Power BI governance frameworks.
- Optimize report and dataset performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement scalable deployment strategies.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, design sessions, and technical reviews.
- Stay current on Microsoft Fabric, Power BI enhancements, and evolving data & analytics trends.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Data & Analytics consulting, with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility.
- 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience (Power BI Desktop, Service, Dataflows, Deployment Pipelines).
- Advanced proficiency in DAX, data modeling, and Power Query (M).
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and executive-level dashboard design.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets, enterprise data warehouses, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data ecosystem preferred.
- Strong understanding of reporting governance, security models (RLS), and deployment best practices.
- Ability to independently lead client engagements or workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Microsoft Power BI certifications preferred (PL-300 or equivalent).
Additional Details
- Hybrid role: 2x per week in office
- Travel to client sites: 30%–50%

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
