The Role
We are hiring a Business Systems Analyst to join our team within the Data Architecture & Engineering practice. You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering team - translating healthcare payer business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications that data engineers can build against.
This role is deeply embedded in the delivery process. You will work across edits development, contract configuration, fee schedule ingestion, and reporting workstreams to define requirements, document acceptance criteria, validate output, and ensure that what gets built matches what the business needs. You are not writing code, but you need to understand how data pipelines, Snowflake, and healthcare claims data work well enough to have credible technical conversations with engineers.
Work You’ll Do
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from US-based consulting teams, project managers, and client delivery leads for workstreams including edits development, contract configuration, and fee schedule automation
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria that data engineers can execute against
- Partner with data engineers to clarify requirements during development, review output against specifications, and validate that deliverables meet business intent
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business rules documentation, and process flow diagrams for data pipelines and analytics
- Support the edits acceptance process by defining test scenarios, validating edits logic output against expected results, and triaging defects with the engineering team
- Analyze healthcare claims data in Snowflake to support requirements definition, data quality investigation, and business rule validation
- Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that support delivery tracking, edit performance monitoring, and client reporting
- Document and maintain process workflows, standard operating procedures, and runbooks in Confluence
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews as the voice of business requirements within the engineering team
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in requirements and proactively raise them with stakeholders before they become engineering problems
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role in a data-intensive environment
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write queries for data exploration, validation, and analysis in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
- Experience writing detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data engineering or software development teams
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools, preferably Power BI (report development, data modeling, DAX basics)
- Experience with Jira for backlog management, story writing, and sprint tracking
- Strong documentation skills with experience in Confluence or similar knowledge management platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to facilitate conversations between technical and non-technical stakeholders across time zones
- Experience working in globally distributed teams with daily cross-timezone collaboration
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify data quality issues and requirements gaps
- Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare payer domain experience: claims data (837/835), provider contracts, fee schedules, reimbursement methodologies, or pricing analytics
- Experience with healthcare data systems such as QNXT, Facets, or similar claims adjudication platforms
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipeline concepts and data warehouse architecture (enough to have informed conversations with engineers, not to build pipelines)
- Experience with data governance concepts, including data lineage, data quality frameworks, and PHI handling
- Experience supporting edits, audits, or cost containment workstreams in a healthcare payer or consulting context
- Agile certification (CSM, CSPO, or SAFe) or demonstrated experience in Scrum or Kanban delivery models
- Experience with Python for data analysis or automation (not required, but a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Benefits
- Flexible Paid Time Off of up to 23 days annually, in addition to 10 paid public holidays
- Hybrid work model with flexible in-office attendance
- Comprehensive health benefits including medical insurance (Mediclaim), personal accident insurance, and term life insurance
- Generous paid parental leave program
- Attractive employee referral bonus scheme
- Transportation allowance and night shift allowance
- Employee advance salary loan facility
- Structured professional certification reimbursement policy to support ongoing learning and development
