About the Role
The Payroll Implementation Consultant will be responsible for implementing payroll solutions for clients, configuring systems, conducting payroll migrations, facilitating testing and training, and supporting clients through successful go-live and post-implementation activities.
The role combines payroll expertise, consulting, project delivery, training, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support payroll implementation projects.
- Conduct client requirements gathering sessions and process reviews.
- Configure payroll systems according to client requirements and legislative requirements.
- Import, validate, and reconcile payroll data.
- Conduct testing, payroll validations, and parallel runs.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and system issues.
- Train payroll administrators, HR teams, finance teams, and end users.
- Develop implementation documentation, process guides, and training material.
- Provide post-go-live support and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Consultants, and clients throughout project delivery.
- Assist with payroll compliance and best practice recommendations.
- Support clients across Zambia and South Africa.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in payroll administration, payroll consulting, payroll implementation, or a related role.
- Experience working with payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing and statutory deductions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Advantageous
- Experience with Dynamics Payroll.
- Experience with Sage Payroll, VIP Payroll, Payspace, SimplePay, SAP Payroll, Oracle Payroll, or similar payroll solutions.
- Payroll implementation or migration experience.
- Experience working with clients in multiple industries.
- Experience supporting payroll operations in Zambia and/or South Africa.
- Project implementation experience.
