About The Role
- We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst who will be based in either Washington D.C., New York City, or Chicago office within the Corporate Positioning & Insights practice, serving on the primary research team.
- Senior Research Analysts provide support for both research logistics and analysis, and often manage smaller projects.
- Responsibilities include writing first drafts of survey questionnaires or discussion guides, managing survey fielding or focus group logistics, proofing materials, and generally playing a plays a hands-on role in the design, execution, analysis, and delivery of primary research engagements, managing defined workstreams and smaller projects.
What You’ll Do
- Develop questionnaires, discussion guides, analysis plans and other research materials, applying sound research judgment and working closely with senior team members to refine and finalize research outputs.
- Manage the day-to-day execution of primary research projects, coordinating timelines, fieldwork, vendors, and deliverables, while proactively identifying and resolving issues, to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Take ownership of research findings, identifying key themes, trends, audience differences, relationships, and unexpected findings, and determining the insights and implications most relevant to the research objectives.
- Develop client presentations and reports that synthesize research findings into clear, compelling, data-driven stories, using effective structure and visualization to communicate actionable insights and implications.
- Conduct and support focus groups and in-depth interviews where appropriate.
- Independently manage defined workstreams and smaller projects, while supporting senior team members on larger, more complex, and global engagements.
- Support and provide guidance to junior team members on research execution, analysis, and development of project materials.

Basic Qualifications
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience conducting primary research using quantitative and qualitative methodologies, with an emphasis on quantitative experience.
- Experience conducting primary research projects from setup through completion, including timeline management, vendor coordination, fieldwork, and quality control.
- Experience with survey programming, tabulation, and/or analytical platforms such as Qualtrics, Forsta/Decipher, Q, SPSS, Displayr, or similar tools.
- Interest in and experience using AI and other emerging tools to support research development, analysis, and efficiency, with the judgment to appropriately review and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s)
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, with demonstrated experience developing polished, data-driven presentations; strong Excel skills for organizing, manipulating, reviewing, and analyzing datasets. Demonstrated experience working with survey data, including tabulations, cross-tab analysis, significance testing, weighting, and quality checking outputs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality analysis and deliverables.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize research findings and implications.
- Ability to translate data and research findings into clear, compelling narratives tailored to colleagues and clients.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Strong project ownership and proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate needs, identify issues, and move work forward with limited direction.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to contribute ideas, learn new methodologies, and take feedback.
- Comfortable taking ownership of defined tasks and workstreams while working closely with senior team members.
- Ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback to junior team members and contribute to their development.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and offices in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $84,000
Maximum Pay: $119,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
