Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Climate and Nature specialist (manager or sr. Consultant) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical thinking, data analysis, advisory skills as well as project management experience. You will work with clients to assess their environmental impact, develop sustainability strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks. This role requires familiarity with one or more key frameworks including CSRD, ESRS, GHG Protocol, SBTi, TCFD, and TNFD.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' environmental and climate-related impacts;
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with clients' business objectives;
- Analyze data related to greenhouse gas emissions, resource usage, and environmental impact;
- Provide advisory services on compliance with regulatory requirements such as CSRD and ESRS;
- Assist clients in setting and achieving Science-Based Targets (SBTi) for emissions reductions;
- Guide clients in reporting and managing climate-related risks and opportunities in line with TCFD recommendations;
- Support clients in understanding and integrating the TNFD framework for nature-related financial disclosures;
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders;
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in environmental sustainability and climate action.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- WO (Bachelor's or Master's) degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, or a related field;
- Proven experience in a (consulting) role focused on climate and/or nature;
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex data sets;
- Experience in project management;
- Excellent advisory and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences;
- Familiarity with key sustainability frameworks including:
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
- European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
- Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)
- Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
- Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)
- Experience in preparing sustainability reports and disclosures;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications
- Professional certifications related to sustainability or climate change (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, GRI);
- Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) and environmental impact assessment (EIA);
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in different regions;
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting software and tools.
