Job Description:
Strategy & Advisory Technology Consultant
Crowe’s IT Advisory Practice focuses on helping clients plan, execute, and manage Strategic IT Initiatives. Clients range greatly in industry and size – from 20 person Software Companies to 1,000+ employee Manufacturers and everywhere in between.
Our consultants stay up to date on IT Industry Trends and provide objective assessments of a client’s IT Operations. We do this through a series of information gathering sessions, critical requirements meetings, independent research and previous experience.
Crowe’s IT Advisory Practice can be broken down into 5 core offerings
IT Due Diligence
- As part of a Private Equity Group’s Evaluation of a Target Company, Crowe will assess the Current State of IT and provide Key Recommendations in a Written Report
- Key Areas of Assessment Include: IT Spend, IT Organizational Structure, Business Applications, Policies & Procedures, IT Infrastructure, etc.
IT Roadmap
- Play a role similar to an Interim CIO for a client to define key business objectives, understand current IT limitations and create a multi-year plan for all IT initiatives
- Assess the risk and potential business impact of each project and create a phased approach for implementation to achieve the best results
IT System Selection
- Aid companies in Requirements Definition, Vendor Qualification, Vendor Demonstrations, Proposal Review and Final Selection of Key Business Applications (i.e. ERP)
- Provide a structured approach to build consensus around the new software, gain user buy-in and position software vendors with requirements before project kickoff
Project Management Office
- Serve as the Project Manager for IT related initiatives (i.e. ERP Implementation, Cyber Security Projects, Data & Analytics Transformations, etc.)
- Provide structured deliverables tied to the Project Management Framework to oversee the successful completion of the project – working with Client Resources, Vendors, Consultants, etc…
Mergers, Acquisitions & Integrations
- Oversee the integration of all IT related aspects of a Merger & Acquisition
- Includes Combining Infrastructure, Applications, Governance & Management
Business Technology Transformation
- Deliver high-touch core business system implementations for our private equity clients
- Includes business requirement gathering, process mapping, integration design, consultation, & system configuration to meet client needs
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to provide a support role in all 5 core offerings listed – supporting multiple projects at once
- Support projects in a Client Facing role – included appropriate professional standards and ability to provide input while on-site
- Communicate with clients in an organized and professional format
- Research IT Industry Trends & summarize/ present findings to the IT Advisory Team
- Strong note taking skills and ability to cleanse afterwards to highlight areas of importance
- Aid in creation of project deliverables including Reports, PowerPoint Presentations, Visio Diagrams and Excel Tools
- Support IT Advisory Team through SharePoint Team Site Development
Education & Experience
Master’s Degree in Information Systems or Bachelor’s degree in Business with focus in Technology. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Informatics with a Business Focus is also acceptable.
