What You’ll Do
In this hands-on role on AlixPartners’ Corporate Services team, you will be a partner to various Consulting Practices and the Accounting function, supporting key financial processes including client billing, revenue recognition and accounts receivable. You will collaborate with Senior Financial Analysts and other members of a diverse team, while enjoying the challenge of addressing complex and ambiguous financial issues.
The Strategic Finance Analyst is a full-time role located in Southfield, Michigan, and reports to the Strategic Finance leadership team. Paid relocation is not available.
- Support Managing Directors through billing, collection, A/R and accounting processes.
- Review and understand consulting agreements with clients and subcontractors, identifying issues where present.
- Review client invoices, checking for accuracy and completeness, communicating requirements to the engagement accounting team.
- Review time/expense submissions, identifying time/expense issues, and request correction by accounting or consulting staff.
- Extract and prepare accounting/finance data for review by lead consultant before invoicing.
- Distribute monthly reports, data, and financial analysis to Managing Directors; respond to one-off requests for data and analysis.
- Support A/R process and collections follow-up for delinquent accounts.
- Respond to inquiries from accounting group re: client engagement status and economics; identify potential issues and notify appropriate parties.
- Evaluate and handle sensitive, confidential calls, emails, internal and client data with appropriate care, exercising sound judgment in responding to unique and urgent situations.
- Help prepare internal finance/accounting presentations.
- Balance conflicting requests from internal and external parties, finding creative ways to meet the needs of different individuals. Handle other requests for routine finance, accounting, and administrative tasks.

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree required; ideal candidate has accounting/finance/business/economics or related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of accounting/finance experience preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience with SAP a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, displaying the highest degree of integrity. Experienced and comfortable working and communicating directly with senior executives and professional staff.
- A business style that is fluid and adaptive in a dynamic environment.
- Enjoys identifying creative process improvements and finding ways to capture or extract data needed by others and present or modify it according to their requirements.
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently on complex assignments.
- Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the business, over time, and find new ways to enhance the value brought to our firm.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
