The Financial Services Institutions “FSI” team:
A&M’s Financial Services Industry (FSI) team collaborates with leading financial institutions worldwide, offering deep expertise across a range of areas, including Performance Improvement, Loan Portfolio Advisory, Restructuring, Regulatory Advisory, Capital Solutions, and M&A Advisory. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate to join our Financial Services M&A team. In this role, you will work closely with senior professionals on complex, high-profile transactions within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, managerial, and client-facing skills, as well as the ability to contribute to both deal execution and strategic advisory.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Presentation & Client Materials: Lead the creation of pitch decks, client presentations, and other marketing materials, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations.
- Industry Research & Strategic Insights: Conduct comprehensive industry research, providing senior team members and clients with insights on market trends, regulatory changes, and sector-specific developments.
- Financial Analysis & Valuation: Develop and oversee financial models (e.g., DCF, precedent transactions, LBOs, and comps) to support valuation and transaction decisions.
- Transaction Execution: Lead and manage the execution of financial transactions, including M&A, capital raising, and restructuring, from initial pitch through to closing.
- Client Interaction & Advisory: Cultivate and maintain client relationships, and actively participate in client meetings, providing strategic recommendations and addressing complex client queries.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and guide Analysts and other junior team members, overseeing their work, ensuring quality control, and providing feedback.
Qualifications and skills:
Preferred Educational Background: Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field from a Tier 1 university or business school.
Experience: Credible & relevant investment banking experience, ideally within FIG or financial services advisory.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams or projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services sector, including regulatory and market trends.
