Why do we have this role @ Koala
We're seeking a passionate and driven Strategy Manager on an initial 6-month contract to support Koala's global growth by shaping and executing key strategic initiatives. This role will work closely with senior leaders to develop data-driven strategies, implement cross-functional initiatives, and ensure alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and project management skills, capable of turning big ideas into actionable plans.
Requirements
What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?
- Strategic Roadmap & Execution
- Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and refine Koala's three-year strategy
- Translate high-level strategies into actionable initiatives or projects, assigning clear ownership, timelines, and success metrics
- Proactively manage resources, stakeholders, and risks to ensure initiatives deliver targeted outcomes on time and within budget
- Lead end-to-end change management for operational improvements, tracking and reporting on key performance metrics to ensure accountability and lasting positive impact
- OKR Alignment
- Partner with market leaders to set and refine quarterly OKRs that build up to deliver Koala's overarching three-year strategy
- Monitor OKR progress, reporting status updates, and support market leaders to adjust targets or tactics as needed
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Craft clear, concise and compelling decks, memos, and other comms that clearly convey strategic insights or updates for internal and external stakeholders and forge alignment through impactful and data-driven storytelling
- Serve as a key point of contact for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment and buy-in at all levels of the organisation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain close partnerships with key stakeholders across the business to deliver initiatives, align resources and execute project plans
- Facilitate open communication and knowledge-sharing to drive unified, company-wide outcomes
- Demonstrate and promote the company's values, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Ideal background...
- 3-5 years experience in a strategy, project management, or change management role
- Strategic thinker able to adapt global business strategies into local strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated success in diagnosing operational inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, and delivering measurable gains in productivity or cost savings
- Effective project manager with experience in delivering project outcomes in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Skilled in the creation of clear, effective, and high-quality decks, memos and comms
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the business
- Commercially-minded, pragmatic and tenacious
- Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Law preferred
- Management consulting experience (MBB, Boutique or Big 4) is not essential but will be well-regarded
