The Croner Company is hiring a Senior Associate to join our accomplished team. The Croner Company partners with clients at all stages of growth, from biotech startups to global Fortune 500 organizations and world leading philanthropies. We collaborate with our clients to design pay programs that support business growth and align compensation with mission, values, and market practices. Our Senior Associates gain exposure to a wide range of clients and work closely with, and learn directly from, expert Consultants in a collaborative team environment.
The Senior Associate will bring proven compensation analysis experience, intellectual rigor and curiosity to impact a wide range of client projects. The Senior Associate will work with Croner engagement managers on projects including marketing pricing, custom compensation and practice surveys, and development of presentations and recommendations for our global clients in major media, entertainment, digital technology and philanthropy. The successful candidate will be energized by solving new and complex problems through rigorous application of analytical and technical skills. An unshakeable sense of urgency, strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.
CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
As a key member of the Consulting Team, the Senior Associate will be relied upon regularly to:
- Create models, analyses, reports and presentations for complex client projects
- Contribute to development of client recommendations
- Create presentations of data findings and recommendations
- Build and manage large and complex models in MS Excel
- Produce original analyses using advanced Excel functions
- Research and organize data from publicly available sources, such as SEC filings
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
- Occasional travel may be required
WORK LOCATION
Our team currently works three days in our San Rafael headquarters, with the option to work remotely two days per week.

- Five years of increasingly complex compensation analysis, including experience in a compensation consulting firm
- Knowledge of compensation practices and strategies
- Expert level MS Excel skills, including facility with logic, lookup and conditional functions, and their application to compensation modeling
- Passion for producing excellent work for our clients
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking ability and persistence
- Perseverance in solving challenges with new or incomplete data
- Ability to synthesize, analyze and present data using multiple software tools
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload, navigating competing deadlines

- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Deep interest and passion for working in the unpredictable and fast-paced nature of consulting
- Fluency in MS PowerPoint
- Exposure to statistical software such as SPSS, Stata or SAS a plus
- B.A. or B.S.; demonstrated academic or similar rigorous achievement
