This role will be hired as a Managing Director and is eligible to be located in any location where there is a US based Slalom office.
What You’ll Do
This role leads the US Capability strategy, ensuring alignment with Slalom’s objectives and scalable goal achievement. Key responsibilities include collaborating with leadership to adapt offerings to market trends, fostering strong customer relationships, aligning recruitment with demand, and overseeing operations to meet financial and operational targets while promoting a collaborative community.
Capability Vision & Strategy
- Leads the creation and execution of the overall Capability strategy for delivery at scale, ensuring measured progress toward goals & priorities in alignment with the overall Slalom strategy.
- Builds and implements a bold vision for the capability to foster innovative ideas, creativity, and risk management to stay ahead. Leverages strategic thinking and uses capability expertise, relevant industry, and economic impact knowledge to cultivate a competitive edge.
- Embraces a Global One Slalom mindset and works with other Capability leaders to align on broader Capability strategy.
Go To Market Approach
- Individually, leverages own exceptional functional/technical expertise in one or more Capability disciplines to contribute written or verbal thought leadership (e.g. white papers, conference keynotes).
Business Development & Sales
- Demonstrates a business builder mindset and repeatedly builds sustaining relationships with customers, partners, and within Slalom. Acts as subject matter expert and solutions to our most strategic clients.
- Creates the leadership team, go-to-market motion, and accountability where Capability leaders serve markets with the ability to drive and participate in solutioning for defined Capability area, both as Solution Leads and as SMEs.
- Drives overall Capability growth through management of pipeline and direction of business development activities across the Capability leadership team.
Resource Pipeline
- Accountable hiring/recruiting strategy aligned to demand. Partners with leadership to conduct integrated workforce planning and identify skills/expertise needs. Aligns demand to supply to direct recruitment and career mobility efforts to support headcount growth in areas of demand, when appropriate.
People Development
- Grows and scales a high-performing team that collaborates and models One Slalom in sales, delivery, and customer impact. Leads teams and navigates change when needed.
- Fosters community building across capability and a collaborative, inclusive, and learning environment to drive connections across other capabilities, geos, industries, and partners.
- Defines learning & development priorities and makes corresponding professional development investments.
- Provides guidance, coaching, mentoring, and subject matter expertise for direct reports, programmatizing for broader practitioner experience. Serves as People leadership and culture steward, overseeing senior leaders' hiring, development, and growth and creating a high-performing team environment for our Capability teams; makes the hard calls to effectively manage performance and the bottom line.
- Addresses complex people escalations in partnership with People organization, owns business operations strategy for the capability.
Delivery Management (Quality & Client Management)
- Plays a lead role in building and maintaining executive relationships with key client/partner relationships, leveraging Capability expertise to bring client value.
- Participates in complex deal QA process, demonstrating mastery in project delivery within domain of expertise to ensure successful outcomes. Address delivery escalations in Capability, both internally and client facing.
Financial Management
- Manages business to achieve operational goals (e.g. blended utilization, cost to serve) and runs a healthy business that drives positive bottom-line performance. Owns Business Operations strategy for Capability.
- Leads achievement of annual revenue goals as well as multi-year revenue growth.
- Leads the formation of the Capability’s AOP per company planning cycle. Grows business (resource revenue; resource headcount) in alignment with geo demand forecasting.

- Complex Delivery Execution - Demonstrated expertise in leading complex Consulting projects, achieving intended client outcomes and expected margin.
- Domain Expertise - Demonstrates a successful career in consulting, having led large teams with an emphasis on solution selling. Shares business insights and unites cross-functional capabilities. Brings expertise in at least one of the following: Corporate Strategy, Supply Chain, Financial Planning & Analysis and/or Sales & Service.
- Innovation - Leads the creation of new offerings, accelerators or thought leadership. Sets the Capability vision and strategy in alignment with Slalom strategy and supports teams to align to it.
- Track Record in Sales - Builds a team that is credible and reliable in providing solutioning leadership for pursuits; Maintains advanced/expert mastery in functional/technical roles, seen as SME by others
Additional
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
This role will require time in a Slalom office, at client site and ability to work remote, candidates should be comfortable with a hybrid work environment, prioritizing client facing needs as appropriate.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $240,000.00 to $384,000.00. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
