About The Role
The Research Analyst is a full-time entry level position, ideal for either a graduate or candidate with limited experience. The Research Aanalyst delivers research and analysis to support Growth partnership service deliverables for the Program Area. Key objective at this career stage is to develop as a solid analyst, developing fundamental research skills and a sound understanding of Frost & Sullivan Growth Opportunity Analytics processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and analysis at the industry, sector, solution and customer levels.
- Provide assessments and recommendations to support decision-making and strategy development.
- Focus on the aerospace and defense market sector to include commercial aerospace, airports, unmanned systems, defense, and space.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, including emerging technologies, customer preferences and changing dynamics in the competitive landscape.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on market intelligence and analysis to drive informed decision-making in support of Frost & Sullivan’s growth strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and A&D Advisory/Consulting to develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns and product positioning strategies.
- Define, monitor and analyze key short, medium, long-term drivers for the Aerospace & Defense market sector.
- Provide updates on short-term and long-term market trends including how key customers are being affected by these trends and the potential impact to their strategy.
- Partner with the Director of Aerospace & Defense Practice Area Leader to engage with external research firms and analysts as necessary to gain industry insight for A&D Advisory projects, as required.
- Attend trade shows and industry events in support of Frost & Sullivan’s aerospace and defense market sectors and solutions teams and to aid in the development of market intelligence and analysis.
Required Competencies
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in aerospace engineering, unmanned systems technology field is preferred.
- Three (3) years of related experience is required; five (5) or more years of related experience is preferred.
- Solid understanding of business concepts and financial analysis, cost models and contracts and negotiation as they apply to aerospace and defense-related companies.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills and ability to conduct research and analysis on a wide variety of aerospace and defense topics.
- Must be able to understand, summarize and explain complex technical, technological and business concepts in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to interact in a cross-functional team with both formal and informal lines of authority.
- Must be able to operate effectively in a multi-cultural, global environment.
- Must possess strong English writing and speaking skills sufficient to be easily understood by Western prospects, clients, and customers.
- Must be able to participate in calls with colleagues and clients in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific which requires flexibility of daily schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills with capacity to think at the strategic level.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all customer and company information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with senior-level decision makers or senior-level influencers at prospect or client companies.
