Project Overview
- Primary Focus Areas: Platforms and ecosystems — specifically mobile app stores and operating systems, with secondary coverage of connected devices and browsers.
- Target Audience: High-value gamers and niche, highly targeted app store consumers.
Core Responsibilities
- Vendor Management: Partner with and manage a mix of large global research houses (e.g., Ipsos, Kantar) and boutique customized agencies to execute research programs.
- Research Design & Strategy: Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers and business teams to translate complex product and business questions into clear, actionable research strategies.
- Insights Synthesis & Storytelling: Analyze, validate, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research reports into impactful narratives for internal stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as Brand & Experience Activations, Loyalty, Gaming, data analysts, and other researchers.
Candidate Requirements & Skills
Must-Have Attributes
- Mindset: Eagerness to learn, dive straight in, and collaborate openly.
- Storytelling: Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate insights and translate them into actionable business strategy.
- Ambiguity Tolerance: Comfort with navigating “gray areas” and handling stakeholder feedback, even when skeptical or critical.
Preferred Experience & Tooling
- Backgrounds of Interest: Candidates from B2C tech, consumer electronics, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or advertising/marketing consultancies (e.g., account planners, client strategists) tend to adapt quickest.
- Research Agency Experience: Candidates coming exclusively from large research agencies often struggle with the mindset shift required for internal roles.
- Hard Skills / Tools: High proficiency in common productivity suites (Slides, Sheets). Heavy data analytics, SQL, or dashboarding tools are not required, as the role focuses on synthesis rather than raw data execution.
- Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience or strong interest in gaming, plus exposure to AI workflows/tooling (e.g., Gemini, AI Studio) to integrate into research processes.
