This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Governance Consultant based in Lagos, with flexible work-from-home options. The role will be responsible for driving the delivery and growth of the firm's Governance Advisory services, including Board Evaluations, Board Effectiveness Reviews, ESG Advisory, Board and Director Training, Governance Reviews and other governance-related solutions.
The role will also provide oversight of governance engagements, coordinate team deliverables, support business development and contribute to the growth and operational effectiveness of the Governance practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of governance advisory engagements, including Board Evaluations, Board Effectiveness Reviews, ESG Advisory, Board/Director Training and Governance Reviews.
- Develop and drive governance service offerings, ensuring they remain relevant to client needs and emerging governance trends.
- Identify and pursue business development and revenue opportunities within the governance advisory space, including developing proposals and supporting client engagements.
- Build and maintain relationships with Boards, Directors, senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee governance engagements and coordinate team deliverables to ensure quality, timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Provide guidance and technical support to team members, including reviewing key deliverables and supporting their professional development.
- Monitor governance trends, regulatory developments and emerging areas such as ESG, sustainability and board effectiveness, translating these into relevant client solutions.
- Support the development of the firm's governance strategy, methodologies and tools to strengthen the growth and effectiveness of the Governance practice.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 8–9 years' experience in corporate governance, governance advisory, consulting or a related field.
- Strong experience in Board Evaluations, Board Effectiveness, Governance Reviews, Board/Director Training and/or ESG Advisory.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with Boards, Directors and senior management.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, frameworks and relevant Nigerian regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to identify business development opportunities and contribute to revenue growth.
- Strong commercial, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams, manage multiple engagements and drive delivery.
- Professional qualification such as ICSAN or another relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
