ClearView’s Data & Analytics practice is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Data Analysts to accelerate the continued growth of our capabilities. Members of the data team work closely with the consulting staff and senior leadership to solve complex and unique problems in the life sciences. The data scientists will leverage common tools (i.e., SAS, SQL, R, and Python), large data sets, and creativity to build models and processes to support ClearView’s clients.
Responsibilities:
As a Data Analyst, you will interact with internal and external teams to address critical strategic questions within the biopharmaceutical space. During the course of a typical project, you will:
- Collect, clean, mine, and analyze data.
- Serve as a knowledge resource for the consulting staff regarding statistics, machine learning, and life sciences data.
- Design and create advanced models to drive analytically-driven strategy projects.
- Innovate project approaches and identify new life sciences problems to solve with analytics.
- Aid in team building by making code scalable through templates, macros, or interfaces.
- Clearly communicate analytical techniques and findings from analyses in a non-technical manner.
- Work in a high-performance, strongly collegial, and collaborative environment.
Requirements
The successful candidate for the Data Analyst role must have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience with large data manipulation in SAS or SQL interfaces.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Excel modeling (using a spreadsheet to make quantitative predictions based on a series of underlying assumptions).
- Common machine learning models (e.g., neural networks, support vector machines, decision trees).
- Advanced regression models (e.g., Bayesian, hierarchical, non-linear).
- Unsupervised learning.
- Advanced time series.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to dive deep into business processes, data, and analytics.
- Independent, creative, and driven quantitative thinker.
Preferred Qualifications: While not required, an outstanding candidate for our Data Analyst role may also have:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Highly analytical approach to solving complex problems.
- Extensive experience using R or Python in any of the following areas:
- Large data manipulation.
- Common machine learning models (e.g., neural networks, support vector machines, decision trees).
- Advanced regression models (e.g., Bayesian, hierarchical, non-linear).
- Unsupervised learning.
- Advanced time series.
- Experience with life science APIs & public datasets (e.g., PubMed, OpenTrials, CMS, CDC, etc.).
- Experience in data visualization using SAS, R, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, or D3.js.
- Role can be located remotely or be based out of our Boston, New York or San Francisco offices
