The Role
We’re looking for Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Manager, Consulting (which is a Senior Manager level position) this means a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to People Care initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsibilities
- Leading Business Transformation for clients across the value chain across Design- Sales & OM-Sourcing-Procurement-Manufacturing- Aftermarket & Distribution
- Deep expertise in serving industrial and process-oriented clients within manufacturing sector and provide tailored solutions that address their specific needs
- Be the strategic partner and provide strategic guidance and solutions to clients in the manufacturing industry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Cognizant teams to deliver process improvements and operational excellence.
- Well versed and have proven experience in designing, developing strategies across various aspects of Industrial manufacturing i.e. Plan-Source-Make-Deliver- Support ( for example: supply chain strategies, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics optimization etc.)
- Experience on managing consulting led downstream programs
- Be the navigator for clients and provide consulting value proposition around cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
- Should be able to generate data led insights for clients
- Should have experience in consulting clients around functional Manufacturing & related modules for at least one or two ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle etc.)
- Manage client relationships, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Driving thought leadership agenda for the BU including authoring white papers, workshops, webinars, etc.
- Ensures the appropriate alignment and collaboration of consulting teams and individuals to support project requirements and activities in the focus area and within larger Cognizant and client ecosystems.
- Advocate for and establish appropriate recognition for Consulting within projects and negotiate applicable consultant rates in project sizing that correspond to the value Consultants contribute to engagements.
- Exercise leadership in the development of Consulting service offerings.
- Leverage collegial networks across Cognizant (e.g., sales, service line community, offshore delivery) and externs partners to innovate solutioning or resolve issues; and
- Support and contribute to the establishment of thought leadership in the industry, to promote Cognizant’s brand and to drive additional opportunities for Cognizant.
Qualifications
- The track record and experience to achieve the above, which includes ideally 10+ years of management consulting experience, where at least 2 of those (though ideally 4+) have been Digital technology (business or technical consultative) team lead experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Business, Communications, Finance, Logistics, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent
- The ability to set and manage multiple project plans for a single client; a command of project management principles and a track record of applying them to drive transformation successfully
- Experience leading technical and non-technical initiatives; previous experience coordinating workstreams in multi-team projects, ideally using an onsite / offshore model
- Leadership skills that bring out the best in others; the ability to oversee multiple Consultants and non-consultants who are working toward a common goal – the best possible outcome for a client
- A desire to work with enterprise-level clients and the ability to manage through complexity
- Relevant domain, industry, or product certifications, depending on your industry/capability majors and minors (Manufacturing)
- Experience with program quality frameworks, methods, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma)
- MBA or PGDM degree Preferred
