Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) works with strategic players across industries and PE community. TAG focuses on providing potential clients with an understanding of company’s
Sustainable economic earnings Historical sales and profitability trends Working capital levels Key assumptions used in management’s forecast Key personnel and accounting information systems
TAG involves commenting on quality of revenues and earnings, over/understated assets and liabilities, post-closing cost structure changes, historical trend analysis (key market drivers, sales strategies, customer relationships and customer churn) and qualitative observations like company’s internal control structure, management and accounting team, and accounting information system. As part of FDD, extensive interactions are conducted with C-suite executives and other senior personnel of the corporations.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Execution and Management
- Meticulous attention to detail, a sense of curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly, and a dedication to customer satisfaction
- Strong communication and presentation skills as the role would involve conversations with various stakeholders – investors / clients; targets and senior team members
- Analytical bent of mind with an ability to identify patterns, draft questions and draw conclusions from discussions with stakeholders to identify and articulate potential deal issues.
- Take initiatives and gain skillsets as per project demand
- Ensure the timely delivery of work allocated
- Ensure actions on feedback by clients / internal stakeholders
Due Diligence
- Develop a quick understanding of clients’ businesses and its derivers
- Prepare zero-defect, review-ready excel worksheets (Work Products)
- Ability to write sections of the report, which would form part of the final deliverables.
- Interpret, evaluate and prepare analysis of income statement, balance sheets, cash flow statements and business plans
- Summarize, quickly and effectively, information from multiple sources into concise analytical assessments and recommendations
- Compile full data book with supervision
- Well acquaint with GAAP (Indian GAAP and Ind AS)
- Prioritize several projects and assignments while meeting tight deadlines
- Discern patterns of complex diligence matters and provide accurate understanding
- Identify and effectively communicate potential deal issues to seniors
- Knowledge of data analytics software like Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI is a plus.

Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent)
Experience:
- Required
- 2–3 years relevant experience in financial due diligence (Senior Associate).
- We will also consider statutory audit candidate with 3-4 year experience on a selective basis for this role.
