About the job:
The purpose of this role is to maintain the processes of the Delegated Underwriting Authority Team within the Underwriting Operations Function in facilitating the effective operation of delegated authority contracts and enabling the delivery of high-quality client service. The role supports the clients’ underwriting operations on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delegated Underwriting Management
- Acting as Business Partner and main point of contact for the assigned class of business with a focus on clear and transparent communication;
- Running and supporting the due diligence process for onboarding and renewal of delegated underwriting authority contracts;
- Ensuring that all contracts are aligned with regulatory standards, company policies, and market conditions;
- Coordinating other clients’ stakeholders related to their tasks as part of these processes, including finance, legal, compliance, claims functions, and underwriting teams;
- Consultancy and Advisory
- Providing expert advice to clients and partners on enhancing delegated underwriting strategies, improving operational efficiency, and optimizing profitability;
- Identifying operational challenges within delegated authority arrangements and developing actionable solutions that address both short-term and long-term objectives;
- Conducting workshops and training sessions for client’s internal teams;
- Cultivating strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their needs, providing expert guidance, and delivering value-added services.
About you:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant (re)insurance industry experience, ideally related to delegated underwriting authority business,
- Contractual review skills with some legal background is welcome;
- Ability to work flexibly to complete duties of the role, particularly during peak underwriting periods;
- Proven ability to prioritize and organize effectively, and work with speed and accuracy, particularly under pressure and as a part of a cross-functional team;
- Experience supporting work allocation and working to SLAs/tight deadlines;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams;
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and solutions to improve delegated underwriting performance and operational efficiency.
