Risk Management at KPMG plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with the Firm's independence policies and we are looking for a Consultant to join our Independence team. It’s not essential that you have experience in auditor independence, we will provide the necessary training.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Assist Independence team with
- Independence processes related to prospective and existing audit clients for Australia, PNG and Fiji.
- Various Independence systems, processes and procedures.
- Administering Firm and Partners independence compliance related systems and performing associated tasks including query management
Other Responsibilities
- Apply innovative and creative techniques for process improvements, including commitment to continuous improvement in the delivery of quality advice to the business and providing value adding solutions to compliance challenges.
- Prioritisation of multiple tasks as necessary.
- Develop processes or procedures that create efficiencies internally or for the business.
- Identify appropriate solutions and provide adequate rationale to support your decision.
- Build effective relationships with KPMG Partners and staff, including consulting with other parts of Risk Management to share ideas and knowledge on specific business issues and needs, to provide added value and timely responses to the business.

- Ability to use a range of techniques to identify and analyze issues
- Strong technical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Prior experience in audit, risk consulting or risk management from either a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm – Advantageous, not essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as degree in Accounting, CA, Law or CPA.
- Basic knowledge of auditor independence rules and regulations, such as SEC, IESBA, APES 110 and Corporations Act 2001 – Advantageous, not essential
