About the Role
The Group Strategy team plays a central role in setting the Group strategy to remain a world class retailer. The team is responsible for working with senior stakeholders to develop, articulate and deliver on the strategic priorities of the business. This will include customer, e commerce and data drive stategies.
Responsibilities
- Provide fact-based insight to assist the development and delivery of key business strategy
- Work on the key priorities of the business
- Facilitate the development of the strategic business unit reviews
- Conduct analytical problem solving on key strategic issues including analysis of macroeconomic trends
- Synthesise analysis to draw conclusions and provide recommendations to the business to enable execution against strategic initiatives
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the business to execute the corporate planning process and prioritisation workstream
- Make a positive contribution to the development of the Strategic Finance team
Qualifications
Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent qualification, with MBA, CPA or similar business qualification an advantage
Required Skills
- Experience in corporate finance, banking, consulting, retail or similar an advantage. McKinsey, Bain and BCG, highly valued
- Proven experience in complex analytical problem solving, financial analysis and financial models
- Comfortable conducting high quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve complex, strategic problems across the business
- High level of proficiency using appropriate analytical tools & techniques
- Previous experience in managing work-streams within projects
Preferred Skills
Experience working with complex analytical problem solving, experience writing or contributing to board level presentations and reports, as well as presenting those findings to senior business stakeholders.
