JS Careers is pleased to be assisting a prestigious Australian private equity fund with the recruitment of a new Investment Associate. The firm is a successful A/NZ investor with a track record of successful investments across the healthcare, consumer, environmental services, industrial services, energy and IT sectors. Due to successful fundraising and recent promotions, the team are looking to add another investment professional.
This Associate position will join a team responsible for identifying private equity investment opportunities across Australia and New Zealand. Targeting mid-cap companies (EV $100m-$500m) with opportunities to create long-term value both for investors and the community, our client has a values-driven approach and a focus on responsible investments, complementing a senior team with a track record of exceptional financial returns.
We are seeking candidates with approximately 1.5-5 years of professional experience from leading investment banks, boutique advisory firms, consulting firms and private equity / direct investment funds.

Role Responsibilities:
• Investment origination and deal sourcing across the aforementioned sectors
• Due diligence - financial and commercial diligence potential new investments
• Transaction execution - project management and leading advisors through accounting/tax/legal workstreams
• Financial analysis, valuation and modelling - for both new and existing investments
• Assist in raising debt finance to support investments
• Developing investment committee papers and client presentations
• Contributing to Investment Committee discussions on specific investments
• Providing direction and assistance to management teams of investee companies
• Supporting portfolio companies with selected strategic projects and M&A.
Candidates must also possess the following:
• 1.5-5 years of investment banking, consulting, funds management or private equity experience
• Tertiary degree
• Confident, friendly and professional approach with an ability to work as part of a team and alongside senior executives
